You may encounter an error code indicating a syntax error in the pjl command. There are several ways to solve this problem, we will talk about them a little later.

CPD338D “An error occurred while retrieving data”
The LAN adapter has expired and our recorder has ended. For instructions on changing the timeout settings, see Recommended timeout settings for IBM, HP, and Lexmark print servers earlier in this document.
This is also likely due to a certain TCP/IP protocol violation that can occur when the printer is connected to the local network through a Lexmark MarkNet print server containing Lexmark Optra printers with internal network cards. This protocol-specific violation is known in association with the double SYN issue and is described in the following IBM Informational APAR:
IBM Informational APAR II12692, LIC-COMM-TCPIP AS/400 SENDING RST DUE TO INVALID SEQUENCE NUMBER
If there is a general double SYN issue, the print blogger tries to connect to the Lexmark Optra printer by sending a SYN (sync request). Due to severe network congestion, the iSeries device does not receive a SYN ACK (sync acknowledgment) from the printer fast enough, so it sends another SYN request. Lexmark MarkNet computer printer on pageIn my case, sends two SYN-ACKs to two SYNs originally sent by the iSeries, but the second SYN-ACK has some invalid sequence number, causing the IBM System i to issue a trusted RST to completely reset the printer to send or close the connection . This breaks the connection to the printer and the spool files run by the operating system are not printed.
TCP/IP connection tracing may be required to confirm that the underlying double SYN issue is occurring. In this case, you can resolve the issue by contacting Lexmark. You can get a firmware update for Lexmark MarkNet S and Lexmark MarkNet Pro adapters. Contact the Lexmark Customer Support Center at 1-888-LEXMARK (or 1-888-539-6275) for firmware upgrade instructions and to request a solution to duplicate firmware SYN or to request firmware variant 191 or 192 ( or higher). According to Lexmark Technical Support, the firmware update can also usually be downloaded exclusively from the following URL:
Note. The current version of the firmware for the MarkNet X2000 and MarkNet N2000 series adapters does not have this problem at all. This issue may occur with older MarkNet, MarkNet XL, and MarkNet XLe connectors, but updates may not be available if there is not enough space for these adapters. If you encounter this problem with these older adapters, try to reduce network congestion, replace the MarkNet adapters with newer adapters for firmware updates, or do not use these printers with R440 OS/400 or later.
If the CPD338D returns code 3426 (RC3426), this may indicate that the print host or network interface card (NIC) is probably not configured for bidirectional communication. Verify that Parallel Mode is almost certainly set to BiTronics, Bi-Directional, or ECP/MLC, not Centronics.
Receiving a CPD338D message with return code 3426 (RC3426) can also mean that the print or publish server does not support PJL. In many cases, the printer or download server does not support PJL and then supports SNMP again. In this dispute, the change in the description of the phone 3812*lan PJL per device description 3812*lan SNMP can solve the actual problem. This can usually be done by setting the User Defined Choice (USRDFNOPT) to *ibmshrcnn and changing the option for the new system driver program (SYSDRVPGM) from *HPPJLDRV to *IBMSNMPDRV.

CPD337C “Session with device &1 ended abnormally”
The CPD337C message indicates that a web link cannot establish a socket connection if it cannot be created for several reasons. If this happens, please read the following:
Change this system driver from *HPPJLDRV for your program to *IBMSNMPDRV.
Several devices configured while browsing the physical printer, one or more have an inactivity timer (INACTTMR) set to *NOMAX or a non-recommended value in combination with a better value of *SEC15. INACTMR, commonly referred to as the release timer, specifies how long a connection to a physical printer port remains after all spooled record data has been printed from the output string. The idle timer is minutes, not seconds, so a value of five taps means that the connection reaches the port 5 minutes after all the spooled files in the product queue have been printed. Determine all systems configured for the printer and make sure INACTTMR is set to *SEC15.
A network feature called the Intrusion Prevention Approach (IPS) can print to identify malicious agent packets and block the actual connection.Download this software now to fix your PC and increase its security.
